Zulfiqar Mirza is a Sindhi politician of Pakistan affiliatedwith Pakistan Peoples Party. Zulfiqar Mirza hails from a Sindhi-speaking Shiapolitical family in Sindh, the Qazis of Sindh. The Qazis of Hyderabadthemselves are Sunni but have intermarraiges with the Sindhi Mirza Shia tribe.
Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza is married to Dr. Fahmida Mirza who waselected as the first female Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan onMarch 19, 2008. She is also the first female parliamentary speaker in theMuslim world. Zulfiqar Mirza is currently member of Provincial Assembly ofSindh and was Home Minister of Sindh till June 2011. He acquired his secondaryeducation at Cadet College Petaro in the late 1960s.President of Pakistan AsifZardari also attended Cadet College Petaro in 70s.
He is nephew of Qazi Abid, Qazi Azam, and Qazi Akbar. Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Mirza. Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza is married to Dr. Fahmida Mirza who was elected as the first female Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan on March 19, 2008, former Acting President of Pakistan, three time Member of the National Assembly, and daughter of Qazi Abid.
